Pfingsten

On the Pfingst-Wochenende I was together with my best friend Ulle in Hamburg. We were on the Hafenfest and we saw a lot of good music. The sun was shining and the Landungsbrücken were overcrowded. After that we made a trip to Wischhafen to spend two days on a farm. It was very relaxing and I made some photos with Holga. Here are the first (bad) scans from our weekend.

Vier Monate in Istanbul

„Durch ein Gewühl von Menschen seinen Weg finden? Wobei eigentlich immer der Weg das Ziel ist – der Weg dorthin.”

Istanbul – diese Stadt brodelt, schwimmt, rennt, rauscht und schläft niemals. Die vielen Farben, die Kultur, die Faszination des Einzelnen, das Wasser, die Gegensätze, das Zusammentreffen von zwei Kontinenten und schließlich die Menschen, die diese Stadt zu dem machen, was sie ist.
Ende 2008, Anfang 2009 habe ich für vier Monate in Istanbul gelebt und fotografiert.
Vom Mitrennen und Stehenbleiben, den täglichen Begegnungen und Situationen. Das Wichtigste für mich jedoch war, Menschen zu treffen, meine Freunde.

In die Stadt eintauchen. Kopfüber.

Four months in Istanbul

Istanbul – a city of brewing, swimming, running, rushing and never sleeping. The rich mix of colours, culture, the fascination of the individual, water, contradictions, the meeting of two continents and finally the people who make the city what it is.
In late 2008 and early 2009 I spent four months living and photographing in Istanbul.
The movement and stillness of the city, the daily encounters and escapades. But the most important thing for me, the people I met, my friends.

Vier maanden in Istanbul

“Door een gewoel van mensen je weg vinden? Waarbij eigenlijk altijd de weg de bestemming is – de weg daarheen.”

Istanbul – deze stad pruttelt, zwemt, rent, ruist en gaat nooit slapen. De vele kleuren, de cultuur, de fascinerende individualiteit, het water, de tegenstellingen, de samenkomst van twee continenten en tenslotte de mensen die deze stad vormen.
Eind van 2008 en begin van 2009 heb ik in Istanbul geleefd, gewoond en gefotografeerd.
Mede de stad rennen en staan, dagelijkse ontmoetingen en situaties. Maar het belangrijkste voor mij waren de ontmoetingen met mensen, mijn vrienden.
